Welcome to our blog!

Its our first time blogging so excuse the terrible puns, bad jokes and any other tyre* errors :) *type

A few weeks ago we placed a bid for a 1989 VW T25 Transporter Campervan on eBay, with the idea that we wouldn't win because it will go for far more money than we had!

Just our luck that no other bugger bid for it and so we won the bloody thing. We didn't even know what condition it was in, resulting in worried excitement. We picked it up last week and have had a good look at it. Rust in parts but other than that, all good. We spent all day cleaning/clearing the interior and gave the exterior a good ol' clean and so the restoring starts!

We've named him Frank because his licence plate told us to :)

Cleaning - I'm a little scrubber...

Well I have never seen such a neglected van! It looked cleaner than it was. He was covered in all sorts of muck.

The worst sort of dirt was caught inbetween the sliding windows, they wouldn't open due to moss growing on the inside. The best thing to do is get a stanley blade and run it through the dirt, be careful of the rubber seal though. The windows have two spaces at the bottom for water to run through. I then got a toothbrush and cleaned out the rest of the muck, it then needed a power shower to get the last bits. When this happens I covered the pretty (cleaned by myself) doors in muck, bugger.

We are back cleaning him this weekend and it will take us another day I reckon. Its a good idea though because you can get to know the space and make sure you have no major rust spots etc. Its fun but I think its going to take a long time to get him sorted. Fun time but not the greatest time of the year to start a project that gets you wet and cold!

See you soon! Jessie xxx

First things first

While we're still waiting for the Haynes manual to come through the post, Frank needs his rust sorted and I'm going to use Vantac. It's used in marine and naval companies to remove rust from, well ships I suppose. Looking forward to it.
